Position Description:
The Department of Art and Art History at the University of Alabama at Birmingham seeks an artist to teach drawing and related concepts and strategies to begin August 15, 2016 as an Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure earning). The faculty member will teach a 5 course per academic year load, supervise the foundations curriculum and liaison with the School of Education for all matters relating to the MA degree in Art Education and/or another assignment as determined by the department Chair including independent study students; and contributing to the studio program, department, college, and university in the area of service. Candidates must demonstrate a broad knowledge of contemporary drawing (material, technique, form, content) and be able to articulate contemporary, historical and conceptual issues.
