Job Description Summary:
The Department of Art & Art History at Auburn University seeks a one-academic-year, non-tenure track visiting assistant professor in art history for the 2015-2016 academic year. The position is open to candidates with expertise in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century European and/or American art history who are also able to teach introductory level courses in art history survey/art appreciation. Both semesters, the instructor will teach a global survey class of art history from 1000-1700, and may also be requested to teach an art appreciation course. In the fall, the instructor will offer an upper-level course on eighteenth-century European art history, and in the spring the upper-level class will be chosen based on the expertise of the candidate in dialogue with the department art history faculty.

TITLE: Lecturer in Art History (starting mid-August 2015 for the 2015-2016 Academic Year)

JOB DESCRIPTION/REQUIREMENTS:  Full-time lecturer in art history with primary responsibility to teach Ancient to Medieval and Renaissance to Modern surveys and possibly non-Western survey.
